Our Story

Founded in 1944, Midwest Welding & Machine started in an old blacksmith shop in Downtown Bozeman. A successful business quickly began to bloom. During this time, Midwest Welding & Machine began to establish its reputation in the community. Constantly focusing on providing quality service to the locals, they became the “go to” place. By the early 70s, Midwest Welding & Machine had outgrown its original location and built a new location on the edge of town. Growing over the years, Midwest Welding & Machine has had its’ hand in a variety of projects, both big and small. While the company has grown both in size and capabilities, our core values remain the same: high quality work and service for our customers.

Our Team

Katherine Reich

Owner

Katherine earned a degree in Construction Management from the University of Washington. She spent 10 years in the commerical construction world, before deciding to be a stay-at-home mom to raise her three kids. Once her kids were old enough, and she was ready, Katherine decided to reenter the workforce.

Katherine joined the Midwest Team as an estimator in the Fabrication Division. During this time she discovered a passion for the work, and a strong connection to the company’s mission.

In 2024, the previous owner decided to retire and wanted to sell the company. After alot of thought, Katherine and her husband, Mike, decided to buy the company and the process started. In 2025, everything was finalized and a new chapter was started with Katherine at the helm.

Andrew Martin

Manager-Snowplow & Trailer Division

Andrew grew up in Wyoming before moving to Montana in 2001. Andrew studied at Montana State University and has a degree in Automotive Technology with a Minor in Industrial Technology. Andrew has been with the Midwest Team since 2015, having taken on many different roles throughout that time. Andrew is the Snowplow & Trailer Divison Manager

Bob Davidson

Manager-Air Compressor Division

Originally from Washington State, Bob and his family moved to Montana in 2019. Bob joined the Midwest Team in 2024, bringing an extensive background in Project Management and Teambuilding. In his off time, Bob enjoys spending time with his family enjoying all the beauty MT has to offer. Bob is the Air Compressor Division Manager.

Cameron Wilkins

Manager-Machining Division

Cameron is a Bozeman native. Cameron attended Gallatin College and has a degree in Machine Tool Technology/Machinist. Cameron has been with the Midwest Team since 2020. In his off time, Cameron enjoys dirt biking, off-roading and adventuring with his wife and dachshund. Cameron is the Machining Division Manager

Debbie Allsop

Office Manager

Debbie is a native to the Gallatin Valley, having grown up and raised her family here. Debbie joined the Midwest Team in 2015, having a variety a roles over the years. In her off time, Debbie enjoys spending time with her grandkids and exploring the mountains with her family in their side-by-side. Debbie is the Office Manager.

Stacy

Manager-Powder Coating

Stacy grew up in South Dakota before moving to Montana in 2002 to attend college. Stacy joined the Midwest Team in 2015. Stacy is the Powder Coating Division Manager
